Sonia Rivera was born in Puerto Rico, and has brought her Borincans roots with her to Tampa. After 21 years working as a dance teacher, she has countless experiences that have given her the knowledge that she now shares with her students through her non-traditional classes. She gives workshops in Salsa 1, 2 (Puerto Rican and NY style), Lady style and is also well known for teaching turn patterns, shines, body movement, Cha Cha Cha, spinning techniques and advanced Musicality.

In addition to her teaching experience, she is a certified salsa teacher under Stacey López, and a certified judge under Billy Fajardo. Recently she has been a competition coach for both group and individual Salsa.
